While the DuraTough material is dishwasher safe, we suggest handwashing the engraved boards to preserve the engraved image. Some fading may occur, but we suggest Murphy's Oil Soap to enhance your engraving. This is a cutting board, not a chopping block. Heavy chopping with a cleaver or knife may damage this board. Bamboo Care and Maintenance: Bamboo is an environmental friendly material that is best when hand washed. To keep the bamboo from drying out we suggest using food safe mineral oil.

A much-appreciated gift
I ordered an engraved cutting board as a gift for my friend who arranges European cooking trips. She was thrilled with the gift, engraved with the title of one of her programs. I ordered a custom engraved bamboo cutting board for my husband, who is a chef, with his company logo on it. First of all I very, very seldom order anything online....I'm old school. So I was leary about the quality and the process altogether. In an online chat I asked if I could pick up the item since I am local and it was a Father's Day gift...didn't want to chance the timing of having it shipped. I was told that I could pick up the item. I worked with Martha and she was extremely helpful and friendly. She sent me a proof before engraving and worked with me to add embellishments to the board and sent proofs of those for my approval before doing any engraving. It was truly a custom board with no additional costs than what I had previously paid online. Martha emailed me when my board was ready and hand delivered it to me herself when I arrived. She told me about how to care for it and even oiled the board for me before I got there. It looked even better in person than on the proof and most of all my husband LOVED it! **P.S.
